Robert “Bob” B. St. Clair was the grandson of L. R. Bresnahen, and an early Cheyenne Pioneer who arrived in Cheyenne in November 1867, and was later Mayor of the City of five different occasions during the years from 1876 to 1911. Bob was born and raised in Cheyenne, and attended Cheyenne schools, graduating from Cheyenne High in 1941. He also attended the University of Wyoming. He always considered Cheyenne his home.
In 1942 he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps, and served during World War II. He has worked for the Wyoming Highway Department, Shell Oil Company, Bresnahen/St. Clair Real Estate Management and Ranching Properties. He also worked as a Utilities Appraiser for the Wyoming Department of Revenue and Taxation, retiring in 1987.
During his years in Cheyenne, he was associated with many groups. As Presi! dent of the old Cheyenne Lions Club, a professional member of the American Association of Farm Managers and Ranch Appraisers, The International Association of Assessment Officers, The Young Men’s Literary Club, a two term member of the Wyoming Library, Archives and Historical Board, The American Library Association, The Legislative Committee of the American Library Association and he was Chairman of the Laramie County Library Board that build the library in the years 1964-1969. He was also a member of the Cheyenne Frontier Days Heels organization, held a labor card in the P.R.C.A., was a member of the Rodeo Historical Society Wild Bunch, American Legion, Westerners and the Laramie County/Wyoming Historical Society. During his lifetime, he engaged in skiing, travel, amateur rodeo, team roping, and swimming. Bob was an advanced amateur photographer, having received many awards for his photo images. He was affiliated with St. Mary’s Church. He was preceded in d! eath by his mother, Louise Bresnahen St. Clair, and his father, Boin St. Clair of Fredrickstown, Missouri. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie J. St. Clair and five children: Marie St. Clair of Ft. Collins, CO, Brian St. Clair of Cheyenne, Pail St. Clair of Anaheim, California, Rita Pouppirt of Cheyenne, and David St. Clair of Moorpark, California. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great grandchildren: Brooke Williams and Gracie Lechuga of San Diego, California, Cody and McKenna St. Clair of Cheyenne, and Kathleen Vassios of Sacramento, California.
