Robert R. McDougal, 61 of Cheyenne died February 21, 2016 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 14, 1954 in Reno, Nevada. Originally from Georgia and Florida, he moved to Laramie in 1979 and to Cheyenne in 1995. Robert recently retired as a geologist for the US Geological Survey in Denver, Colorado. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Florida Technological University and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Wyoming where he earned an MFA in Photography and later a Master of Science degree in Geology. Robert served as the Rocky Mountain Regional Commissioner and on the Board of Directors for the North American Clan MacDougall. He was a lifetime member of Trout Unlimited and was an avid fly fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Diana; two step-daughters, Jennifer and Jessica; sisters-in-law, Linda Kelley and Jill Robinson; cousins, Annette & Charles Sisson and Michael and Brian Thomas and his two beloved Golden Retrievers.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Van and Lucille McDougal and a cousin, Brenda Thomas.
Memorial services will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 252 Del Range Blvd, Cheyenne, WY with a reception in the fellowship hall following the service.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
