Robert E. Janssen, 75, of Cheyenne, died Friday, December 30, 2016 at Davis Hospice Center.
He was born May 25, 1941 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Janssen. Bob received his BA Degree in Social Studies Education and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration both from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. He worked for the State of Minnesota Tax Department and as assistant adjutant for the Minnesota Soldier's Home. He served in the U.S. Air Force and Minnesota Air National Guard from 1965-1990 and retired at the rank of Chief Master sergeant. After retirement, Bob moved to Cheyenne where he was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #1881 serving as an officer and ecumenical chaplain for several years. Bob was also a member of the Cheyenne Duplicate Bridge Club and achieved the title of “Life Master.”
Survivors include a brother, George R. Janssen and a sister Kathleen Tako, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Liturgy will be at St. Mary's Cathedral at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2017. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
