Robert Garcia, 77, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018, surrounded by his family.
He was born April 29, 1940 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, a son to Alfred and Hortensia (Luque) Garcia. Robert attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Central High School. Robert had many jobs throughout his life. He worked from 1973 -1991 for Varsity Contractors. In 1991 he partnered with Varsity to form his own company, System 1 Total Facility Services, where he currently still served as chairman of the board.
Robert had many hobbies, hot rod cars, telling jokes, spending time with his grandkids, eating out, where he could start up conversations with the waitress. He was an avid John Wayne fan and could quote most movies.
Survivors include his wife, Diana (Gibbens) Garcia, his loving wife for over 53 years; son, Robert K. Garcia and his wife, Candace Dolph-Garcia; grandchildren, Candra (Justin) Myers; Brendan Garcia; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Sophia Myers; siblings, Charles Garcia; Anna Fitzsimmons and Richard Garcia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Hortensia, Lupe and Lucy.
Vigil for the deceased will be Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Thursday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
A Memorial, open house will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. at the Rigden Farm Barn, 2902 Rigden Parkway, Fort Collins, CO.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Robert’s name. They also ask you wear red to the funeral in honor of Bob’s favorite color.
