Robert "Bob" Leslie Carter, 89, of Cheyenne, died on September 22, 2023 in Cheyenne.
He was born on July 13, 1934 in Roanoke, Virginia.
Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served faithfully and was an honorable man. He married Dorothy Ellen Wright in the St. George Temple and loved and honored her their entire life together.
Bob served in the US Air Force for 20 years and after his retirement he worked for the U.S. Postal Office as a letter carrier and The Bicycle Station as an accountant.
He enjoyed building model trains, wood working, flight simulators and train simulators. He loved going to Walmart to restock his candy supply.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Carter; his children, Marilyn Bellis (Joe), Brenda Roberts (Ron), and David Carter (Erica); 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Carter; his mother, Dora Carter; his brothers, Edward and Hugh; his sisters, Mary Francis and Nellie May; and a great grandson, Makaili Evans.
Services will be Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center with military honors and burial to follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
