Here are some words from the family:
Bob will be missed by many. He could make friends in a heartbeat and had many of them. He loved sports especially college football and baseball. Go Jayhawks. He played sports thru high school and college, even played in the Orange Bowl. He was a very intelligent honest man who could carry on a conversation on just about any subject. He and his two brothers Joe and Tom were close. Bob was the baby of the family and Joe and Tom were always there for him. He majored in political science and minored in psychology. Quite a combination. He was a great husband and dad. He could finish those Sunday crosswords in a heartbeat. When he made friends, he made them for life, never forgetting a name of a friend either. He liked his work with the Dept of Ag which was calling on various surveys because he enjoyed talking with people.
From Linda
Bob came into my life in the late 80"s with a beautiful family moment, he married my Mom and became my stepdad, but to me he will always be my traditional Dad. I take pride in knowing the man he was, with his funny remarks and true ways.
Yes, he was a man to be admired. He would tell it to me how it was, in a kind but honest way. He was intelligent but not condescending, boy how I enjoyed his company! He once told me I 'oversell' and about 20 years later, I figured out he was right.
He gave me strength because I felt assured, I could share most anything, good or bad. I will never forget our lunch in Mobile, with just him and myself. I cannot remember what we talked about, but I remember feeling a sense of wellbeing that was always there.
I remember staying up late and listening to his old records and dancing with him during Frontier days. Learning about baseball and actually kind of enjoying the game...that was definitely because of him!!
He will surely be missed but I am so grateful to have known him and the fond memories my traditional Dad gave to me, to keep near my heart forever. Thank you, Bob for being the one and only YOU!
Sincerely,
BJ Fullerton
I cannot say enough about my dad. He enriched my life and others, and he knows I will never forget him and he will always be in my heart. Love ya Dad,
Sallie McCall
