Rita Dianne Collins, 74, of Cheyenne, died on June 19, 2021 in Cheyenne.
She was born on August 23, 1946 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania.
Rita was an avid and passionate cook. This was demonstrated in her many careers working in various kitchens all over the country. These included nursing homes, assisted living facilities and the Laramie County Correctional Facility. Cooking and baking were her biggest passions and she enjoyed cooking large meals for her family as well as baking several dozen Christmas cookies of many varieties to be enjoyed by people near and far. She truly enjoyed the Holidays and decorated for each and every one of them. In her later years, she also found crafting with her friends from Cheyenne PACE and entered several crafts in the Laramie County Fair, winning numerous ribbons. She was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
She is survived by her children Ricki Thompson (Chuck), Joseph Hesketh (Shannon); step-children Sandra Grossnickle (Jeff), Roberta Moscow (Anthony); her grandchildren Kimberly Chernogorec (Iwan), Kristina Hesketh, Gregory Mayo, Stephanie Morris (Damien), John Luketic, Nicolas Mosco; and several great-grandchildren.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Allen Collins.
Services will be Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
