Richard I Sommers, 70, of Cheyenne WY., passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Centennial Healthcare Center, in Greeley CO. after a brief illness.
Richard was born August 24, 1949 in Port Hope MI. He was the son of Irvin and Charlotte Sommers. Richard and Joan (Siemen) were united in marriage on October 25, 1969. Together they had 4 children.
Richard was an Army Veteran and worked as a farmer for many years then for the Air Force for many years. He retired in 2011. He loved hunting, fishing and time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph (Kelly) Sommers, Roy (Melissa) Sommers both of Cheyenne, WY. James (Cara) Sommers of Escanaba, MI. One daughter Jennifer (Eric)Smith of Pine Bluffs, WY. 7 granddaughters, Erica Sommers (Austin Strouf) of Green Bay, WI, Kathryn Keys (Robbie Gensmanll) of Pine Bluffs, WY, Amanda Jeffery (James Wing) of Lawton OK, Kymberely Sommers of Cheyenne, WY., Alison Sommers of Escanaba, MI. Emily and Christina Roy both of Houlton ME. One grandson, Gavin Sommers of Escanaba, MI. One great grandson Kaiden Keys of Pine Bluffs WY, and one great granddaughter Yasmyn Wing of Lawton, OK. 4 sisters, Judith (Ron) Arndt, Elaine Boyer, Diane Dahlman and Gail Booms.
He is preceded in death by his wife Joan, and his parents.
Cremation took place at the Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel, Chapel of Chimes, 1900 E. 19th St., Cheyenne WY.
