Richard Mullen, 95, of Cheyenne, passed away November 4th at Davis Hospice Center. He was born September 13, 1926, in Weissport, PA. Richard was a proud Navy Veteran who served in WWII on the USS Alamance. He was the recipient of the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. Upon honorable discharge from the Navy he worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad as an outfitter. After that, he served for 24 years as a Cryptologist for the National Security Agency. Richard is survived by his children, Sara Jane (Bill) Cooper, Jowin Carbery, Anton Nunnermacker and Jay (Amy) Mullen; brother Thomas (Victoria) Mullen; sisters-in-law Donna Mullen; Karen Mullen, Chris (Fred) Stehle, Sarah Staub; seven grandchildren: Chris (Eron) Cooper; Ashley Nunnermacker, Kelcey Carbery, Christopher Carbery, Ethan West, Caitlin Mullen, and Courtney Mullen and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Evadna and Charles Mullen; brothers Dean Mullen, Charles “Jack” Mullen; and sister Betty (Paul) Brey. Viewing will be Thursday, November 11th at 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Services will be 2:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. An open reception will follow at The Gathering Place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
