Richard H. Goodale III, 72, of Cheyenne, died Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at UC Health in Aurora, Colorado.
He was born October 11, 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina, a son of Richard H. and Jennie (Weaver) Goodale Jr. Richard started his U.S. Air Force career in 1965 as a fireman. In 1982, he cross-trained and worked in Safety Compliance until his retirement in 1991. He then worked for Reiman Construction in Safety & OSHA Compliance until 2001. Later in life, Richard enjoyed working at the FE Warren Commissary as a grocery bagger where he was able to remain active and gain numerous friendships.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge; the American Legion; and the Cheyenne Bowling Association
Among his hobbies were bowling, fishing, reading, and building models of battleships.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer (Robert) Charley; two grandchildren, Tayler (Jessica) Charley and Raven Charley; two great-grandchildren, Irelynn Lewis and Jackson Charley, all of Cheyenne. Step-mother, Cynthia Goodale of Summerville, SC; brother, Rick Ritari of Summerville, SC; sister, Georgiana Wilmoth of Jonesville, NC; two nieces, Tammy and Heidi; and a nephew, Eddie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan on December 16, 2010; his parents; a son, Christopher Goodale; a granddaughter, Sierra Charley; a brother, Chester Goodale and a sister, Donna Rawls.
Casket Bearers will be Tayler Charley, Robert Charley, Gregg Lamb, Robert Ledet, Jason Moyte, and James Robinson.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10:00 am at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
