Phyllis L. Forgey, 87, of Cheyenne, died Thursday, October 16, 2014, at Life Care Center.
She was born May 25, 1927 in Hickson, North Dakota, to Miles and Myrtle (Iverson) Parmenter. Phyllis attended schools in North Dakota before moving to South Dakota where she met married Thomas Forgey on February 7, 1946. They moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1966. Mr. Forgey passed away on March 2, 1998.
Phyllis was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching sports and her grandchildren were the love of her life. She also enjoyed caring for her pets.
Survivors include a son, Thomas J. Forgey of Cheyenne; four daughters, Carol Wager of Gettysburg, SD; Becky (Jack) Selby of Cheyenne; Janet Forgey of Cheyenne; Laura (Joe Harmon) Bowen of Cheyenne; four grandchildren, Kylee (Jesse) Brandt of Tigard, Oregon; Robert (Michelle) Bowen of Cheyenne; Shane Wager of Gettysburg, SD; Billie (John) Ellis of Cheyenne; a great grandchild, Havilah Bowen of Cheyenne; two step great grandchildren, Lance and Vincent Selby of Mississippi; a step great great grandchild, Damien Selby of Mississippi; two brothers, Peter Parmenter of Alabama; James Parmenter of Nebraska; and a sister, Dorothy Smith of Pennsylvania;
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her parents; a step grandchild, Morgan Selby; two brothers, Kenneth and Marlin Parmenter; two sisters, Joyce Schulz and Mary Jane Grosz; and a son-in-law, Larry Wager.
A Life Commemoration Service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Ron Powers officiating.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
