Phyllis Irene Knapp Cohea, 87 of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away February 26, 2024, in her home in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
She was born September 22, 1936, to Bernard Eugene Knapp and Clara Elizabeth (Hodge) Knapp at her grandparents’ home Northeast of McDonald, Kansas.
Phyllis attended school in her early years at the Knapp School. In 1948 she moved to Grover, Colorado where she finished her education.
She married Francis Eugene Cohea on December 26, 1956, in Greeley, Colorado. They then moved to California where Gene served in the Airforce.
She was loving, industrious, and energetic. She worked from home in Greeley, Colorado for several years, babysitting and light industrial machine jobs. She also kept all the records for Cohea TV and Appliance in Carlisle, Iowa. After moving to Cheyenne, she worked at Sam’s Club for several years as the demonstration manager. All while raising a family of three with the love and care she knew.
She is survived by her son and daughter, Patrick Cohea of Cheyenne and Barbara C. Powell of Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Jean Hauer; two grandchildren, Brandon Powell and Kelsey (Sam) Richeson and one granddaughter, Eleanor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brother, Gary Knapp; and daughter, Cindy Cohea Hood.
She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 1-4 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
She will have a private family interment at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
