Pedro Pacheco

July 11, 1924 — November 30, 2022

Pedro (Pete) Pacheco passed away peacefully, while holding the hand of his wife, Tillie of 76 years, on November 30, 2022. He was born July 11, 1924 in Guadalupita, New Mexico to Andres and Corina Pacheco.

Pete left New Mexico at the young age of 15 to Kemmerer, Wyoming to work on his brother’s ranch. He returned back to New Mexico and married Tillie (Griego) Pacheco on January 28, 1947. They soon moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where they raised their 5 children. Simon (Judy) Pacheco, Frank (Fran) Pacheco, Ron (Rhonda) Pacheco, Cathy Pacheco Lujan, Vicki (Todd) Launer-Fisher, 12 grandchildren and spouses, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He lit up every time a grandchild, great grandchild and great great grandchild stopped by.

Pete worked in flooring for 35 years. Along with his wife, they were owners of the Sands Motel and Guest Ranch Motel for several years before deciding on retirement. Pete will best be remembered as the man who taught so many generations how to camp, fish, hunt and respect all things outdoors. He loved Wyoming and all outdoor experiences. He was most proud of the beautiful cabin he and his wife built on weekends and late evenings after work. Their hard work was enjoyed by his family and friends. His flower gardens were appreciated by anyone driving by their home. Strangers would often stop by if they saw Pete outside working on the yard to comment on the flowers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Corina; sisters, Stella Gallegos, Eleanor Medina and Nora Archulita; and brother/sister’s in-laws. Funeral Services will be scheduled at a later time. Thanks to everyone for their condolences, food and flowers.

Dad, cast that fishing line, we will always be thinking of you xoxo
