Paul Wesley Meyer ‘Paulie’, 70, of Cheyenne, WY passed away on October 21, 2022 at the Davis Hospice Center surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Austin, MN on August 31, 1952 to Wallace Meyer and Phyllis Webber. He was the oldest son and had a strong love for his brothers and sister. His family moved to California where he went to Bell Gardens High School. He met his sweetheart Renae Garrett and they married on July 4, 1970. On January 4, 1971 he welcomed his only child, a daughter, Michelle into the world.
Paul was a devoted father and grandfather. He dedicated his life to his family and loved ones. He made a profound impact on those he encountered and was a kind and generous man who welcomed many with open arms. Paul lived a simple life where he had a steady battle with rheumatoid arthritis but was always happy with a cup of coffee in his hand and ESPN on the tv. Throughout his life he was an avid sports fan and history enthusiast. His favorite teams were the Minnesota Vikings and the Twins. He was considered the jokester of the family growing up and loved making people laugh. He enjoyed music and dancing, gambling, card games and spending time with his grandkids.
As an adult he moved back to Minnesota where he lived on his own for a while before moving in and spending time with caretaker and adopted niece Chanel Littleton and her son, his little buddy, Theo. He enjoyed many adventures and happy moments in his time with them. He was dedicated in his love and faith for the Lord and decided in 2021 to get baptized at Eagle Brook Church in Long Lake, MN.
His lifelong dream was always to live near his daughter and grandchildren and this became a reality in July 2021 when he moved to Wyoming. Here he lived the last year of his life with his granddaughter Shelbe who became his primary caretaker throughout his battle with cancer. He spent his last year surrounded by love, making many happy memories and enjoying the life and laughter of his great grandchildren.
