Patricia Rooney, 97, of Cheyenne died Friday, July 11, 2014 in Cheyenne.
She was born March 17, 1917 in Hot Springs, South Dakota and had lived here since 1958.
Patricia was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Bishop’s Guild, Prairie Promenaders and the Wander Yonders as well as a volunteer at the hospital for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, and cooking. Patricia entered many baking contests and was known for her world famous cinnamon rolls.
She is survived by six children, Patricia (Dennis) Coleman, Bobbie DeHaan, Ann (Tom) DeHoff, Tom (Carol) Rooney, Bill (Barbara) Rooney, and Kathy (Dave) Deike; 19 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Rooney; parents, George and Ida Mae Hummel; son-in-law, John DeHaan; a sister and two brothers.
Vigil for the Deceased will be 6:00 p.m., Wednesday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Interment to follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers will be Don Coleman, Casey Rooney, Wik Rooney, Tommy DeHoff, John DeHaan, and Gavyn Bates.
