Neva Maxine Kinney

January 25, 1944 — August 11, 2022

Neva Maxine Kinney, 78, of Cheyenne, died peacefully in her sleep on August 11, 2022 in Cheyenne.
She was born on January 25, 1944 in Adrian, Michigan, to Bernard and Esther (Dohm) Sprague.
Neva attended cosmetology school in Springfield, Ohio, where she met Ronny Kinney. They were married in 1965 and stationed at bases in San Antonio, TX, and Myrtle Beach, SC, before finally being stationed at F.E. Warren Air Force Base and settling down in Cheyenne in 1971. Neva worked as a teacher's aide at Goins Elementary school and for more than 25 years as an office manager at P.S. Cook Plumbing and Heating. Having three daughters kept her busy in Girl Scouts and Job's Daughters. She was an avid Laura Ingalls Wilder fan and one summer traveled with her friend Janet Cunningham to all the homesteads where Laura and her family lived. Neva enjoyed researching her family lines through genealogy. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
She is survived by her three daughters, Tonia "Toni" Bell (Greg), Melanie Kinney, and Kristina "Kristie" Wilson (Jeff) all of Cheyenne; stepdaughter Robin Tilley of Linwood, NC; sister-in-law Tommie Sprague of Adrian, MI; grandchildren, Ashley Kinney of Cheyenne, Shelby Bell of Westminster, CO, Keaton Bell of Laramie, WY, and Michelle Mason of Winston-Salem, NC; seven great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, whom she loved dearly.
Neva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister Rosalee Snyder, and brother Lewis Sprague.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 16 August, 11-5, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, 18 August, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with a reception to immediately follow at The Gathering Place.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Life Care Center of Cheyenne for their kind and compassionate care.
Donations may be made in Neva's name to a charity of your choice.
