Minnie Otilda Gonsior

September 17, 1927 — September 11, 2022

My father Jacob R. Hill was born in Doennhof, Russia and my mother, Maria Elizabeth Kindsfather, was also born in a Russian village of Dietel. They met in Windsor, Colorado. I was born in Windsor along with one brother and six sisters. I received my confirmation at St. John Lutheran Church in Windsor in 1942.

I married Edward Paul Gonsior in September 10, 1949 in Raton, New Mexico and later had blessing ceremony at Our Lady of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado. Edward was a pipe fitter of the Union Pacific Rail Road, and at that time in April of 1951, we moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Edward later became a carpenter by trade and built several house in Cheyenne during his spare time.

I worked as a sales clerk at Sopher’s Children Store until they closed after twenty-four years of employment. I also worked for Fowlers Department store for nine years, and also for the Cheyenne Winterization Program for four years.

Edward passed away on July 8, 1972 and I remained a widow thereafter.

I became a charter member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Cheyenne, Wyoming on January 12, 1958 and remained a member for the rest of my life. I moved to Millcreek, Utah to be closer to my daughter in August of 2020, where I spent the rest of my life.

Minnie is survived by her three children Rory (Annette), Cheryl Newman (Don) and Carol Loftin (Samuel). She is also survived by six grandchildren: Dustin Tafoya (Lindsay), James Newman, Alexia Gonzalez (Frank), Sean Gonsior, Rebecca Cheff, and Laura Loftin.
