Mike Herrera, 75, of Cheyenne, died Thursday, August 28, 2014 at his home.
He was born February 26, 1939 in Cleveland, New Mexico, a son to Claudio and Cecilia (Bernal) Herrera. Mike received his schooling in New Mexico before being drafted into the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge he came to Cheyenne where he worked for Morrison-Knudson and later the State of Wyoming.
He enjoyed fishing, reading, politics and keeping up with current affairs.
Survivors include two daughters, Terrena Borrego of Clarinda, Iowa; and Shanna Herrera of Iowa; two brothers, Milnor and Manuel Herrera, both of Cheyenne; five sisters, Mercy Silva, Cheyenne; Caroline Presson of North Carolina; Jean Rodriguez, Jane Castro and Marta Soriano, all of Cheyenne; and four grandchildren, Veronica, Christopher and Monica Tyson, all of Iowa; and Joshua Borrego of Clarinda, Iowa.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Inez Herrera.
Vigil Services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, Sept. 4th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Inurnment will follow at Olivet Cemetery.
