Michael R. (Mike) Przymus
Mike Przymus, 70, of Cheyenne, peacefully departed this Earth on June 20, 2024, surrounded by love until his final breath. Mike was born in Cheyenne on March 22, 1954, to Edmund and Catherine Przymus and remained a proud Wyoming native throughout his life.
Mike attended school in Cheyenne, graduating from East High School before pursuing his passion for automotive technology at Laramie County Community College. Mike joined the Wyoming Air National Guard in 1974 and he was assigned full-time to the 153rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron in 1983 as an AC-130 Crew Chief. Through his meticulous maintenance of the aircraft, he ensured the safety of the aircrew for countless missions, both at home and overseas. He also made significant contributions to the Wyoming Air National Guard Flag Heritage Team, participating in 563 flag ceremonies and funerals. He was also part of the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting Systems (MAFFS) unit in which his team provided aerial support during forest firefighting operations. He completed four deployments, for which he often volunteered, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He loved his job and traveled the world over in support of his country. Mike retired as a Master Sergeant from the Wyoming Air National Guard in 2012, after 38 years of service.
Mike met Cherie McNinch in Cheyenne and they later married in 1977. Together they raised three daughters, Jaclyn (Jaci), Jessica, and Alissa. Mike was a wonderful dad and adored his girls. During his free time, he loved working on vehicles and frequently volunteered his time to help friends and family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mike often reminisced about the fishing trips he took to the boundary waters with his friends from the Wyoming Air National Guard. Mike’s unwavering commitment to family, strong work ethic, and steadfast reliability touched the lives of all who knew him.
Mike was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s in 2013 and while it was a long and difficult road for him, he faced it with courage and resilience. He remains deeply cherished by many, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and kindness. He was the best of the best, one of the good ones.
Mike is survived by his three daughters, Jaclyn Przymus, Jessica Goodrich, and Alissa Martin, as well as his four grandchildren Madison and Austin Goodrich, Oliver Przymus, and Isabella Rivera, all of whom he loved very much. He is also survived by his brothers Patrick and Daniel Przymus, and his sister Susan Miller, and many nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
