Max Sorick, 92, of Cheyenne, Wy, passed away at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center March 30, 2019 in Cheyenne. He was born to Harvey and Amy Sorick on September 26, 1926 in Hillsdale, WY., where he attended school and after that joined the Navy in September of 1944 through July of 1947. Max was an Electrician Mate Second and served aboard the USS Ormsby and the USS TMS 463, headed for Japan when the war ended. He attended apprenticeship for upholstery and started Sorick’s Upholstery and Tradearama, retiring in 1962. Max is survived by his wife, Shirley (Loetscher0 of 65 years, son Harvey Sorick (Evie Welsh) and granddaughter Ari Welsh, one brother, Rex Sorick (98 yrs), two brother in-laws, David and Richard Loetscher, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. Max enjoyed fishing big game hunting, motor cycling, and snow mobiles. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at The Old Rugged Cross Chapel at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
