Mary Gertrude “Trudy” Hernandez, 79, of Cheyenne, WY, passed away peacefully at her home on December 9, 2023.
She was born on May 10, 1944, in Guadalupita, New Mexico to Anastacio and Carmen (Salazar) Martinez
She was married to Pablo Hernandez in 1978.
Trudy spent most of her life as a homemaker tending to and caring for the family.
She loved to read and write in her journal every day, color, work on crossword puzzles, was a good prankster, dancing to great music, going to church and praying, spending time at the lake and fish, caring for her yard, being with her dogs. She enjoyed cooking for her family, talking to them for hours, going out to eat with them. Trudy enjoyed playing BINGO and being at the casinos.
She spent many years volunteering to serve funeral dinners at St. Josephs Church. She was a member of the Red Hats club. Some of the most cherished memories are when she spent time with all of her family. She treated all people as her family and left you with a smile. She gave the best hugs and kisses and could tell a good story about her past. The love she gave to everyone will live on forever.
She is survived by her beloved husband Pablo Hernandez; children, Gilbert Leroy Vigil, Philip Vigil ( Yvonne), Margarita Hernandez, Amy Hernandez, Angela Hernandez, Pablo Hernandez; grandchildren, Amber Vigil, Desirae Vigil Philip Vigil, Marty Hernandez, Michael Hernandez, Bobby Ganzenmuller Jr., Brianna Ganzenmuller, Justin Valdez, Benji Garcia, Julian Hernandez, Haylen Ackron, Azzy Hernandez; and 5 great grandchildren
Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, Anastacio and Carmen Martinez; sister, Edalia Griego and half-brother Steve Duran
Vigil for the Deceased will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec 16th at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be Monday, December 18th, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
