Mary Ann Fonseca

Mary Ann Fonseca, 84, of Cheyenne passed away June 15 surrounded by her family.

She was born March 7, 1931, in Douglas to Jose and Rafaela Dorador.

Her early years were spent in Scottsbluff, Neb. There she met her future husband, Mariano Fonseca, and shortly thereafter they moved to Cheyenne. Mary Ann and Mariano celebrated 62 years of marriage in April 2015.

Mary Ann spent most of her life as a homemaker and volunteered at her children's school. She had many talents, including sewing and drawing. She was an amazing cook.

She was a longtime parishioner at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and had a devotion to the Virgin Mary.

She is survived by her husband, Mariano; five children, Sylvia (Billy) Martinez, Martha (Tony) Gonzales, Alicia Trujillo, Mariano Jr. (Norma) and Norma (David) Cooper; two sisters, Aurora Franco of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Amelia Reyes of Tacoma, Washington; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jose; and sister, Concha Reyes.

Vigil for the deceased will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Funeral liturgy will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Tom as celebrant. Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Emiliano Martinez, Albert Gonzales, Andrew Gonzales, Michael Fonseca, Julian Martinez, Isaac Garcia, and Anthony Farmer.

Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
