Mary Lee Brownell, 85, was born October 9, 1930 to Nelson and Vera Alberta (Barnhill) Kugler on the family farm in Riverton, Nebraska. She joined her loved ones in heaven on November 26, 2015 at Davis Hospice.
The eldest of six children, she grew up on the family farm in rural Riverton and attended school there, graduating in 1949.
She married Glen Cassel in 1949 and they moved to Horse Creek. They had seven children, later divorcing. She married the love of her life, Philip Brownell, September 1, 1961 in Cheyenne, celebrating 54 years last September.
Mary Lee worked for Western Ranchman Outfitters for about 25 years as bookkeeper and an assistant store manager.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, hunting, traveling, sewing, and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Terry Paul; sisters, Juanita Kugler, Roberta Bohrer, Dorothy Cross and two great-grandsons.
She is survived by her loving husband, Phil; children, Bonnie (Dan) Graeber, Connie (Bob) McCaslin, Mary Robin (Chris) Dolan, Sid (Sandy), Gail (Chris), and Tim (Carolyn) Cassel; daughter-in-law, Sharon Cassel; special son, Charlie Wilson; siblings, Florence Moler and Tom Kugler; fifteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.
Life Commemoration Services will be 10:00 a.m., December 7, 2015 at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
