Marvin Thomas Chandler (Tom) went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Davis Hospice in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Nancy R. Quinn of East Petersburg, PA. Born in Washington D.C on April 4, 1957, he was the son of the late Marvin B. and Mary L. Chandler.
Tom was a graduate of Selinsgrove Area High School, class of 1977. He started driving truck in 1977, and was self-employed until 1996, when he began hauling for other companies such as Rich Oil, and Dart Container. He also worked for Kemp Foods and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in the transportation department.
He was a man of strong faith and was a longtime member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church in East Petersburg, PA.
Besides his daughter he is survived by his sisters Margaret Brown of Mifflinburg, PA, Mary Chandler of Reading, PA, and sister-in-law Sandra J. Frantz (Richard) of Millersville, PA.
He will live eternally in the hearts of his daughter Abby Belovarac (David); sisters, nieces, nephews and family and friends.
Tom loved life and living it to its fullest. He loved trips to the beach, long motorcycle rides with Nancy, truck driving, NASCAR, time with family and friends, and the Make a Wish truck convoy.
We will never be able to fill the void that his passing has left, but we are eternally grateful to have had such a wonderful man for a husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
A celebration of life will be held in Pennsylvania Spring/Summer 2023 for family and friends. Details will be forthcoming closer to such time.
A poem written by Tom Chandler-
He traveled the roads
A life he chose
Driving all night from state to state
Trying to get home and arriving so late
He parked his truck, his engine has stopped
Those who loved him, their hearts have dropped
He traveled the country with a smile of great pride
We send you with love on your next ride
