Martin Joseph Hernandez

July 25, 1946 — August 17, 2020

Martin Hernandez, 74, of Cheyenne, died Monday, August 17, 2020 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 1946 in Fort Collins, Colorado, he was the son of Vicente and Theodora (Ornales) Hernandez. At a young age, Martin moved with his family to Cheyenne where he received his schooling, graduated from Central High School and a career in concrete construction. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War while in the U.S. Army. He continued his mission and goal oriented way of life through his leadership, work ethic and caring for family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Naomi (Dominick) Lopez, Cheyenne; four brothers, Ralph, Diego "Chuggy" (Margaret), Jesse "Chewy" and Vincent "Ben" Hernandez, all of Cheyenne; a sister, Lupe Perea, of Cheyenne; a granddaughter, Aryana Lopez, of Cheyenne. a god daughter, Chrissy Sanchez, a god son, Jess Fresquez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Nick and Fernando Hernandez and three sisters, Mary Gutierrez, Jennie Padilla and Anita "Annie" Martinez.
