Martin Robert Emmons, 55, was called home to God on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Davis Hospice Center. He was born on June 25, 1962 in Augsburg, Germany to Colonel Robert H. and Gayle L. (Horwarth) Emmons. He married Jill M. McMillan on November 4, 1995. Martin is survived by his wife, parents, sister Erin E. Cook (Thomas) and several nieces and nephews.
Martin enjoyed many activities including being a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, a living history group which re-enacts the Middle Ages. Known as Duke Olaf Bjornssen, he was a member of the Order of Chivalry for his prowess in martial combat as well as the Order of the Pelican for his many years of steadfast service to the group. Martin enjoyed firearms and was a member of the Single Action Shooters Society. He also was a NRA certified instructor for pistols. Martin was an avid carpenter. His many works can be found all over the United States.
Martin was a man of integrity and honor. He was a fierce defender of the faith and protected those weaker than himself. He selflessly devoted himself to his family, and made many friends. He was a positive influence to everyone he knew. Te volu bene.
Services are at 4:00 p.m. August 10, 2017 at Emmaus Anglican Church, 995 N. Ridge Rd. Castle Rock, CO 80104.
It is the wish of his family that news of his passing is not broadcast via social media.
