Marie Sarah Torres, 67, of Cheyenne, died Tuesday, June 10th at Davis Hospice Center.
She was born April 5, 1947 in Jamaica, New York to Eugene, Sr., and Nancy Dennison.
Before moving to Cheyenne in 1980, Marie owned The Big Apple Gift Shop in California.
She was a caretaker for Sue Miller, worked for Avanti Ristorante for 19 years and was the Activities Director for Mountain Towers.
Marie enjoyed birds, baking, cooking, fishing, being a room mom and reading. She also loved her cookies and shopping; but most of all, her husband, “Lou”.
Marie is survived by her husband, Lucio; sons, Michael O’Keefe and Danny (Jeanette) O’Keefe all of Texas, and Andre (Connie) Torres of Cheyenne; daughters, Shannon (Carl) Baynard, Desiree Torres (Troy), and Lisa (Jon) Ziemer, all of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Deryk, Chelsea, Andara, Bransen, Breeley, Gregory, Tyson, Aubrey and Jessee; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gloria “Cookie” Ratliff, Nancy Genives and Jane Sharrock; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family; as well as a close friend, Rosemary Torres.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Stephen Dennison, Jr.
There will never be a mother quite like Marie was and heaven has received a beautiful angel to watch over us all.
Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Cheyenne Hills Church with Dr. Galen Huck officiating.
Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Michael O’Keefe, Danny O’Keefe, Andre Torres, Carl Baynard, Deryk Baynard and Jon Ziemer. Honorary casket bearers are Lucio Torres, Bransen DelGrosso, Tyson Weber and Anthony Munoz.
