Margaret J. Curtis, 85, of Cheyenne, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Granite Rehabilitation and Wellness.
She was born May 13, 1930 in Petersburg, Virginia, a daughter of Edward and Jennie (Tyne) Jones. Margaret received her schooling in New Jersey, including her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. She worked as an elementary school Teacher for 40 years. She was an educator in both New Jersey and Cheyenne moving here in the early 1970’s.
Margaret belonged to St. Mary’s Cathedral. She was also a member of the Wyoming Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed playing cello, listening to classical music, different civic performances in Cheyenne as well as attending yoga and tic hi classes.
Survivors include a daughter, Marie Y. Brown; a son, Michael T. Curtis; a brother, Edward Lee Jones; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
Memorial Contributions may be made to C.O.M.E.A. or Davis Hospice.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
