Manuel N. Vieyra, 83, passed away April 3, 2021 in Cheyenne. He was born on June 17, 1937 to Samuel and Helen (Navarro) Vieyra in Greeley, CO.
Manuel worked for Union Pacific Railroad and retired in 1991. He loved the work he did and always told stories of working on the tracks, being a conductor, and foreman. He also did Search and Rescue for several years. He loved Cheyenne Frontier Days and went to every parade. He would show up hours before each parade to get his “special spot.” He also enjoyed the rodeo and watching the cattle run. He prided himself in being a handyman and was able to work magic with his hands, including building a greenhouse to hold all his wife’s plants. He loved being outside and would enjoy going to the lake on weekends to go fishing, working in his yard, and chopping wood.
Manuel is survived by his children Karina, David, Julie, Bobby, Jeana, and Angela Vieyra; Adam and Loren Ackels, and Yvonne Adekale; brothers Adolph and Danny Vieyra; sisters Virginia and Rita Dobkins; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Manuel was preceded in death by his wife Lynette Weiler Vieyra, his parents, and siblings Louis, Samuel and Rita Vieyra.
