Manuel F. Tafoya, 92, of Cheyenne, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Granite Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.
He was born April 23, 1924 in Ledoux, New Mexico a son of Jacobo and Adela (Esquivel) Tafoya. Manuel received his schooling in New Mexico where he resided and worked on the family farm. He came to Cheyenne in 1949. He was employed with the U.P. Railroad before going to work for the City of Cheyenne.
Manuel was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and seven siblings, Raguel Garcia; Delicia Martinez; Vitalia Romero; Eutimia Tafoya Macario Tafoya; Guillermo Tafoya; and Jose Tafoya.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Tuesday, February 21st at 6:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Jake Tafoya, Peter Tafoya, Max Tafoya, John Tafoya, Paul Tafoya and Kraig Tafoya. Honorary Bearers will be Della Macias and John DeLeon.
