Manuel Salas, 92, of Cheyenne, died Friday, June 19, 2015 at his home.
He was born March 26, 1923 in Montezuma, New Mexico, a son of Toribio and Delfina (Gallegos) Salas. Manuel grew up on the family farm in New Mexico. He came to Cheyenne at the age of 17. Manuel married Angelica Tapia on February 24, 1962 in Sante Fe, New Mexico.
He was employed with the Union Pacific Railroad for 22 years. And with the Wyoming Air National Guard for 30 years.
Manuel was well liked by all who knew him. He enjoyed dancing, working hard, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife Angelica Salas of Cheyenne; three brothers, Dale, Max and Tony Salas, all of Cheyenne; three sisters, Mary Soliz of Cheyenne; Mary Martinez of Las Vegas, New Mexico and Connie Griego of Cheyenne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Philip L. Salas; daughter, Lorrane A. Salas; his parents and a brother, Ted Salas.
Vigil Services will be Wednesday, June 24th at 6:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, June 25th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery.
