Madeline Mcginnis

March 14, 1920 — February 5, 2019

Madeline McGinnis, 98, died peacefully Feb. 5 at Davis Hospice Center.

She was born March 14, 1920, in Foster, Mo., and grew up there in a loving family, the middle of five children.

When she was 15, her family moved to Colorado, where she completed her schooling in Fort Lupton.

Her childhood sweetheart from Missouri, Bill McGinnis, and she were married in Austin, Minn., leaving Minnesota to eventually live in Cheyenne, where she and her husband raised their only child, Arloa McGinnis of Cheyenne.

She was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. She and her husband were very active with First Christian Church, including teaching Sunday school, visiting shut-ins and participating in lots of the activities of the church. She and her husband very much enjoyed dancing and were members of various dance groups.

She is survived by her daughter, Arloa; grandson, Tad Herz, and wife, Ann Herz; granddaughter, Tave’Accardo, and companion, Bret McCloud; two great-grandsons, James Herz and Ryan Herz; and one living sister, Glenice Mae Buechler of Denver.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church. Interment will be Monday at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
