M. Pat Lucero, 75, of Cheyenne, died on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, in Cheyenne.
He was born on December 10, 1938 in Mora, New Mexico and had lived in Cheyenne for 70 years.
Pat retired as the Assistant Fire Chief of the Inspection Department-City of Cheyenne. He was a member of the Catholic church, Knights of Columbus 3rd & 4th Degree, Airport Golf Club, Elks Club, and the Latin America Association.
He is survived by his wife, Eulalia Lucero, whom he married on June 5, 1993 in Cheyenne; his children, Kathleen Durante (Rick), and Patricia LaFrate (Pat), Christopher Lucero, Maria Simental (Rusty), Doris Martinez, Eleanor Lujan (Michael), Jeanette Espinoza (Leroy), Bernice Gregorio, Albert Martinez, and Patrick Martinez; a sister, Loyola Valdez; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Lauren, Melissa, Sharon, Patrick, Ashley, Kacee, and Codi; 13 step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Lucero in 1988; sister, Cessaria Gonzalez; brother, Gregorio Lucero; and parents, Eduardo and Eugenia (Garza).
Vigil for the Deceased will be Monday, 7:00 p.m., at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
Funeral Liturgy will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Father August Koeune as the celebrant.
