Lynnie Ruth Harbinson, 70, passed away May 14 at home surrounded by her family and friends from a long illness of Progressive Super nuclear Palsy (PSP). She was born January 27, 1946 to Lynn and Pasty Nelson, in Roswell, NM. After moving to California at a young age, she lived in various cities in the Los Angeles area, until she was married at the age of 18 to Gene Harbinson in South El Monte CA. She then moved to Sidney IA to live with Gene’s parents until he returned from Viet Nam. As a sailor’s wife she moved around to be with her husband, but one of her favorite memories was the three years they lived on Midway Island. After Gene retired they moved to Cheyenne to be close to his parents, Harold and Ila (Stamp) Harbinson in 1993. Lynnie enjoyed working with ceramics, yard work, and paint by numbers. During her life Lynnie worked at two textile plants in CA and Southside Safeway here in Cheyenne. She also babysat for many of the young children in Cheyenne, which have since grown up, but still visited her. She was loved by all who knew her. Lynnie is survived by her husband Gene Harbinson of Cheyenne, three children; Harold Harbinson of Hanford CA, and two daughters Tammara Wyatt of Cheyenne, and Penny Duval of Hanford CA; sister Lit Butcher of Pomona CA, and two brothers; Billy and Ricky Nelson also of California; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and Brandon Bainter, who was like a second son. Lynnie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers James, Edward, Jackie and Johnny Nelson, and her beloved brother-in-law, David Butcher. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Calvary Chapel on May 28th at 1PM at the corner of Ridge Rd. and Riding Club. Memorials can be made to Calvary Chapel.
