Lyla Randolph, 81, of Cheyenne, passed away in her home on Wednesday, December 12. Lyla was born in Sept. 30, 1937 in Walker, Minnesota to Lyle and Marie Jordan. She and her sister, Zola Sheeder, were raised in Sturgis, South Dakota, where Lyla learned to ride horses and loved to go dancing. Lyla graduated from Sturgis High School in 1956 and moved to Denver to attend business school. Lyla loved to read, play Bingo, watch HGTV, and be with her dear "walking friends" at the mall. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they adored her. Lyla worked for the State of Wyoming as the Program Manager of the State Parks Snowmobile Program, a job she loved. She is survived by her daughters Sidney (Ray) Motes, Amy (Scott) Barker, Melissa (David) Ivester; grandchildren Kady, Chelsea, Brad, Allison, Jordan, and Alex and great-grandchildren Ryder, Alexis, and Renlee, her sister Zola (Jim), and her precious dog, Baby. She is preceded in death by her parents, her dear son Mark (Rhonda), and her beloved companion Albert Roberti.
Memorial services will be held at St. Andrew's Anglican Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Meals on Wheels of Cheyenne.
