LuVerne Jackson, 97, of Cheyenne, died Wednesday, April 13th, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 22, 1918 in Breda, Iowa, a daughter of Herman and Alvina (Bauer) Flink. LuVerne received her schooling in Iowa. She was married to Homer Jackson on May 22, 1937 in Dakota City, Nebraska. They made their home in Idaho Springs, Colorado before moving to Cheyenne in 1965. Mr. Jackson passed away on June 13, 1990.
LuVerne was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and the women’s group at St. Paul’s. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Survivors include a son, Robert Jackson of Fruita, Colorado; daugthers, Jeanette Smith of Cameron, Missouri; Shirley Martin of Denver, Colorado; Beverly Robertson of Ken Caryl, Colorado; JoAnne Wells of Iola, Kansas; Carol Barber of Cheyenne, Wyoming; a brother, Wayne Flink of Bull Head City, Arizona; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Floyd Flink; sister, Lois Meyer; and a grandson, Buddy Robertson.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
