Lucio Torres, 78, of Cheyenne, passed away peacefully at his home on June 25th.
He was born January 16, 1941 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Severo Torrez & Josefa Ortiz.
Lucio was self-employed as a barber, known as “Lou the Barber” or “Papa Lou”.
He served in the United States Army and loved to hunt, fish and restore classic cars.
He was a loving husband, nurturing father, faithful friend to all and a selfless humanitarian who loved to volunteer his time and make people laugh.
Lucio is survived by his children, Shannon (Carl) Baynard, Desiree (Troy) Van Kirk, Andre (Connie) Torres, Lisa (Jon) Ziemer, all of Cheyenne; and Michael O’Keefe and Danny O’Keefe (Sarah), of Texas, grandchildren, Deryk, Chelsea, Andara, Bransen, Breeley, Gregory, Tyson, Aubrey, Jeffrey, Tiffanee, Xander, Jessee and Kylee; great-grandchildren, Emilio, Alina, Brielle and Sienna; siblings, Ramona Salas, Sally Simental, Mary Anne Love, George Garcia, Margarita Garcia, Antonio Garcia and Benny Torres; and his first wife, Rosemary Torres.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Marie; a daughter, Shelley Louise Torres; siblings, Perry Torrez, Julio “Mickey” Torres, Jimmy “Cecilio” Torres, Viola Alcon, Ernie Torres, Ralph “Bambi” Garcia and Robert “Boogie” Garcia.
Memorial Services will be at Cheyenne Hills Church, Tuesday, July 2nd at 2:00 p.m.
Marie and Lou are slow dancing in the kitchen together, now and forever.
