Louise Summer Lockhart, 95, passed away August 29, 2015 at the Primrose Assisted Living Facility in Pueblo Co. Memorial services will be held in Cheyenne at 2PM Saturday September 19th at The Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Memorials may go to Cheyenne Meals on Wheels, 2015 S Greeley Hwy, Cheyenne, WY 82007. . Louise was born January 10, 1920 in Steamboat Springs Colorado to John and Vada Summer. Her mother died at child birth and Louise was adopted by John and Jennie See at the age of four months. She grew up in Steamboat Springs and graduated from high school in 1937. She married her high school sweetheart Clyde Lockhart on May 25, 1938. They moved to Cheyenne in 1942 where Clyde was employed by the US Postal Service. Louise was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved caring for her family, sewing and many kinds of hand work, including needle point, crocheting, and embroidery. Her work was admired by all who knew her. Her never ending supplies of hand done tea towels were enjoyed by many. She was also an avid flower gardener.
She worked at Frontier Printing Co. for 14 years. After retirement she volunteered at Meals on Wheels for 26 years and was an active member of the First Congregational Church’s, Ladies Church Circle. Her husband of 72 years, Clyde Lockhart, preceded her in death as did her parents; Brother, Webb See, and his wife, Marguerite See Crawford. Survivors include her children: Marlene (Stewart) Whited of Grand Junction Co., Kathleen (Kass) (Bill) Wright of Kansas City Mo., and son Doug( Naomi) of Pueblo Co. Six grandchildren, Kimberly Flynn, Todd Whited, Kurt Wright, Krista Anon Wright, Jandi Frye and Jeff Lockhart. She was also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren.
