Lillian Ellen Brody, 101, of Cheyenne passed away March 11th at the Therapy Center of Life Care.
She was born January 5, 1918 in Sunset, Washington to Lilburn and Julia (Hilbert) Saylor.
Lillian met Ralph "Jack" Brody on August 15, 1941 at a USO dance They were married six weeks later on October 1, 1941. in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
She graduated in 1937 from Kinman Business University in Spokane, Washington. She went to work for the Workers' Compensation Division for the state of Wyoming July 7, 1952. In February 1954, she and two of their children joined Jack, who was stationed in Germany. In June 1956, they returned to the United States. They were stationed in Albany, Georgia and Del Rio, Texas before returning to Cheyenne in August 1957, when she went back to work for Workers' Compensation Division, In July 1959, she transferred to the Wyoming Department of Health and retired January 31, 1978.
Lillian enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping, bridge and bowling, She started bowling in 1965 and continued in several leagues until she was in her 90’s.
She is survived by her two children, Delores E. Wiederspahn of Cheyenne and Patrick L. (Debbie) Brody of San Angelo, TX; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Brody on May 13, 2012; her parents; a son, Michael S. Brody on August 15, 2003; four brothers and two sisters; one grandson and three great grandsons.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with Betty Ann Shaffer officiating. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers will be Davy Alm, Kelly Williams, Craig Cunningham, Dale Poling, Kyle Poling and Aaron Harper.
