Lesley Lonnie “Baby” Jackson, 62, of Cheyenne, passed away on January 23, 2019 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
He was born on July 8, 1956 in Casper, Wyoming and was the youngest of four sons to Donald and Mary Jane Jackson.
Les loved spending time with his family and his extended family in Kansas He loved most sports, especially basketball, football, track and baseball. He graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, Wyoming in 1974 where he was an amazing athlete, excelling in football, basketball and track. He earned all state honors in football and helped Kelly Walsh win their first state title. Les also attended Mesa Junior College and the University of Wyoming. He continued playing basketball his entire life and will be fondly remembered for his deadly left handed three point jumper and talking a little trash. Softball was another sport Les enjoyed during his adult years, hitting home runs and enjoying a good laugh.
Les spent the majority of his life working in the construction field with numerous skills and trades.
He is survived by one son, Jamar (Alisha) Jackson of Cheyenne, one daughter Aleisha Jackson of Cheyenne, 12 grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jamar, Tasia, Javonte, Julius, Amos, Aijhanaya, Jyreese, Kyauna, Demetrian, Deondre and Dejaney. He is also survived by three brothers, Donald Jackson and Ronald (Kathy) Jackson both of Casper, Wyoming and Marty (Loy) Jackson of Cheyenne, Wyoming along with one "adopted" bother, Alvin (Crump) Jones of Rock Springs, Wyoming; along with numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. Les was especially close with his niece Tish Jackson and her son Noah.
Les was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mary Jane Jackson and one son, Demetrius McChone.
Services will be Friday, 11:00 a.m., at the Cheyenne Church of Christ, 4707 Allan Road, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82009.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Les Jackson Memorial Fund with First Education Federal Credit Union in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
