Leonard “Gail” Rorabaugh, 92, of Cheyenne, died on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Life Care Center of Cheyenne.
He was born on April 5, 1923 in Wray, Colorado and had lived here all of his life.
Mr. Rorabaugh served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. He worked for the UPRR, Cheyenne Police Department, and retired as Chief Deputy for the U.S. Marshal’s Office. He loved his fishing trips and also enjoyed hunting and bowling. Gail was a member of Moose Lodge #257.
Gail is survived by one son, Frank Rorabaugh (Debi) of Cheyenne; three daughters, Ramona Cathcart (Rich) of Carpenter, Evelyn Frank (Bill) of Arizona, and Cheri Foster (Howard) of Cheyenne; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera “Helen” Rorabaugh on September 5, 2014. Gail and Helen were married on January 3, 1943. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Hanesworth; three brothers, Paul, Linn, and Troy Rorabaugh; a granddaughter, Kristie Accardo; and a grandson, Jim Chamberlain.
Life Commemoration Services will be Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
