Leila Bernice Pelton was born March 9. 1928 in Friend, Nebraska to Frederick and Iris Molthan and died at Davis Hospice Center on September 19, 2015. Leila graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelors in Education. She taught for many years in Lincoln, Nebraska and Wyoming including Hillsdale, Burns and Pine Bluffs.
Leila married Charles A. Pelton in 1957 and together they raised five children. The family lived happily near Pine Bluffs for many years, where Charles farmed. Her life was filled with family, her love of reading and her dedication to teaching.
Leila spent her last few years living at Whispering Chase and made many friends there. Special thanks to the Senior Wellness group who showed her kindness and assistance in her last few months and to the Davis Hospice Center for their loving care.
Leila was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles and a daughter Tara Reher.
She is survived by four sons; Richard of Tampa, Florida, Frederick of Cheyenne, Christopher of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Charles of Eagle River, Alaska, their spouses, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Community of Christ Church, 3525 McCann Avenue, on Thursday, September 24, at 11:00 AM.
