Memorial services with military honors for LEE ROY NAJERA, 58, will be held at 1pm Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the First Congregational Church at 3501 Forest Drive in Cheyenne, Wyoming with Chaplain Wade Jensen officiating. Lee died at his home on February 6, 2015 and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later. Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation and Wiederspahn Chapel is assisting them with services.
Lee was born June 14, 1956 in Raymondville, Texas the son of Felipe and Eustolia (Nieto) Najera. He grew up and received his education in Uvalde, Texas where he graduated high school. Upon graduation he joined the US Navy. He served in the Navy, the Naval Reserve, and lately in the Air Force Reserve for a total of forty years. He moved to the Goshen County area in the late 90's . He married Karlyn Juschka on June 20, 2003 in Uvalde. They bought a farm south of Yoder, Wyoming in 2005.
Lee enjoyed building and fixing things with his hands, and liked helping family, friends and neighbors, and enjoyed horseback riding. In his civilian life he was a Master Electrician.
Lee is survived by his wife Karlyn of Yoder, Wyoming; three brothers Richard (Patricia) Najera of Springtown, Texas, Eddie Najera Sr, and Felipe Najera Jr both of Uvalde, Texas; and four sisters Linda Najera of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cristina Hernandez of Dallas, Texas, Veronica Gonzales of Uvalde, and Mary Ann Garza of San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his mother-in-law.
