Laura May Chaplinski, 80, of Cheyenne, died peacefully, Friday, April 15, 2016, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 14, 1936 in Sheridan, Wyoming, a daughter to Iven and Nellie (Levina) Francisco. Laura came to Cheyenne in the early 1950’s. She received her Associate’s Degree from LCCC. Laura worked at the Downtowner in Cheyenne until 1980 when she retired. She had also worked at DePaul Hospital in records.
She was married to Joseph S. “Joe” Chaplinski in 1992 in Rawlins, Wyoming.
Laura enjoyed traveling, dancing, watching movies, crafts and her family remembers her favorite saying when they said something funny was “Oie”.
Survivors include her husband, Joe of Cheyenne; four sons, Terry Hartley, Dale Hartley and Victor Pontillo, all of Cheyenne; Jack Keller of Fort Lupton, Colorado; a brother, Russell Francisco of California; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Chaplinski of Cheyenne and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Homer, Wayne and Stanley Francisco.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
