His last days were spent in Sheridan, WY at the VA Long Term Care/Hospice. They were very attentive to his needs and provided family with detailed updates. We are grateful to their dedication to our Veterans!

Larry was born in Cheyenne, he was the second child of 6 born to Robert and Doris Porter. He graduated from Cheyenne East High and went on to Casper Junior College earning a place on the Presidents Honor Roll.

His interests were black powder hunting rifles, compound bows, and fishing. He loved the Tetons, Big Horns, and Snowy Range.

Larry joined the Navy February 2, 1967. He received the National Defense Service Medal for his service in Vietnam March 10, 1971.

He worked at Mountian Bell and then went to work for the State of Wyoming Ground Water Division from June 1, 1976 to retirement
August 2, 2003.

He is survived by 2 sisters Shirley Swearengin , Mickey Thrift, and step brother Alden Crom. He has numerous nephews and nieces.

Larry is proceeded in death by his parents, Robert Porter, Doris Porter-Crom, brothers Dale, Glen, sister June Dunn, step father Walter Crom, step brother Loyd Crom, and step sister Amanda Blake.

Graveside service will be at 10:00, in Olivet Cemetery.

He will always be remembered for his huge heart , for sharing with family and friends. He helped so many people without ever wanting recognition.

He is deeply missed, but we will see you again dear brother!
