Larry L. Naffziger, 80, 0f Cheyenne went to join his Lord and Savior in Heaven on January 4. He passed away while doing what he enjoyed most, working in his shop.
Larry was born on August 25, 1939 in Bloomington, Illinois to Ralph and Hazel (Klopp) Naffiziger. After graduating from Carpenter, Wyoming High School in 1957, he enlisted in the US Army. During his military service, he served as a mechanic’s apprentice and learned the necessary mechanical skills that he later employed in his first profession. Upon his discharge from the Army, he held auto and diesel mechanic jobs for Saunders Trucking in Greeley and International Harvester in Cheyenne. In the mid 1960’s, he was also the shop manager for trucks at the Ford Dealership in Scottsbluff, NE. Larry also worked in the maintenance department at WyCon Chemical before joining Pipefitters UA Local 192 in 1972. He worked as a pipefitter for the next 30 years until his retirement.
While working in the pipefitters trade, he suffered several injuries. Even though these injuries and subsequent surgeries left him unable to continue working professionally and forced him into retirement, he never lost his zeal for living and doing the activities he enjoyed. Hunting, fishing, camping, waterskiing, traveling, barbecuing and cooking were just a few of the activities to which he devoted his time and talent. Of all the activities in which he participated, he most enjoyed working in the shop he had built. There he welded and continued working on his mechanical and wood working endeavors. Larry was also a member of Moose Lodge #257. He had a passion for his dogs Molly, Keota and Little Bit as well.
On September 28,1991, Larry married Lorraine Gustafson, and together they spent 28 beautiful years together. They enjoyed traveling and many other activities during their years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine of Cheyenne; children Carol (Tony) Cox of Elizabeth, CO, Cheryl Goodwine of Kemmerer, WY and Martin (Cathy) Naffziger of Severance, CO; stepchildren Sheryl Ley of Worland, WY and Kevin Gustafson; siblings Jim and Dean, both of Phoenix, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Cremation is under the care of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
