Larry L. Johnson, 79, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center on April 27, 2018.
Larry was born in Goldfield, Iowa on May 31, 1938 to Lawrence Portal and Margaret Fern Johnson. Larry was raised by his beloved Aunt and Uncle Louise and Burvene Johnson after his mother passed away unexpectedly at the age of 22 and while his father was serving in the US Army in WWII. Larry followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the US Air Force where he would serve over 20 years before finally retiring as a Technical Sergeant. He then worked in maintenance for LCSD #1 in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 20 years before retiring. Larry and his wife Jacqueline loved to travel, especially to Branson, Missouri and the Smoky Mountains after retirement.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline of 59 years, his three children, Darryl (Patricia), David (Brenda), and Reba (Terry), his brothers Gerald (Shirley), Stanley (Patricia). Larry is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his mother (Margaret), his father (Lawrence), his brother Marvin, and his grandson Hunter Lee.
