On September 15, 2020 Jesus took Lana Snyder to her new home in Heaven, she was 71 years old. She went peaceably at her home in Cheyenne, WY. Lana was born on December 28, 1948, in Torrington, WY, to Rodney and Esther (Ehrlich) Harris. Her family moved with her father’s job from Torrington to Douglas, WY, where she stared school. Then to Colorado Springs, CO; Alamosa, CO; Denver, CO; and back to Torrington, WY where she finished her Junior year in High School. She married John Cunningham and when he left, she moved to Cheyenne. She met and married Gary Land, when that failed, she later married Steve Snyder and they have been married 45 years.
Lana attended Career Beauty College after graduating she worked at Hitching Post Salon as a hairdresser and prepared for competition with mentor Bonnie Anderson, while also modeling. She later worked at Peru’s Salon. She the worked at Fidelity Finance, she was Assistant Manager, then she was a school buss driver for Laramie Count School District, after that she worked at Union Pacific Employees FCE as a Teller and Loan Officer. She started the Mortgage Loan Program for credit unions with CUNA Mortgage, trained personnel; from credit unions in Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska, and eventually did underwriting and the selling on the secondary market. She was elected President of the Cheyenne Chapter of FCU’s and taught classes on loan laws and procedures to loan officers and credit committee members. Lana went on to Warren FCU, where she was doing the same duties, she worked for Century 21, she was Tour Director of CCRIM. After moving back to Cheyenne and the to Loveland, CO, she worked and Manager of Money Now, then was self-employed as LS Bookkeeping. They moved again to Concord, CA, where she was Manger of Sunny Acres MH and RV Park, and an honored member of American Business Women’s Association before moving back to Cheyenne.
Lana was passionate about her family and friends, especially her granddaughters. She loved music, collected rock music from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and classic country and music videos. She also collected movies, loved golfing, bowling, boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, cooking and visiting. She was a member of Zion Congregational Church and was a member and past Secretary of Cheyenne Snowmobile Club.
Lana was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Harris; brothers, Rodney (Bob) Harris, Jr and Jerry Harris; niece, Sherrie Snyder; nephew, Jeremiah Harris and grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Steve; father, Rodney Harris, Orange Park, FL; son, Shon (Amber) Snyder, Cheyenne, WY; sister, Beth Harris, Ft. Collins, CO; brothers, John Harris, Cedaredge, CO, David (Angie) Harris, Severance, CO, Richard (Kim) Harris, Colorado Spring, CO; grandchildren, Sebastian Snyder, Boston, MA, Sabrina Snyder, Pleasant Hill, CA, Natalie Snyder, WA, Jessica Lane, Modesto, CA and Maddison Snyder, Cheyenne, WY; special sister Pam Nash, Ft. Collins, CO; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, in Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
