Our Lord unexpectedly called home our beloved Kristy Dawn (Kersey) Van Der Hoeven, age 37, of Cheyenne, on September 1st. She was born on April 28, 1984, to Richard Kersey and Robin (Bennett) Price. She grew up with four sisters and spent her entire life here in Cheyenne. Kristy met her husband, Adam, at Central High School, where she graduated in 2002. She earned her associate's degree in early childhood development. She went on to spend several years in retail before she found her calling to serve children as a paraprofessional for Saddle Ridge, Fairview, and Lebhart Elementaries. Her hobbies included reading, crafting, and the outdoors.
Kristy's whole life revolved around her family and friends. Everyone will always remember her infectious laugh, her beautiful smile, and the light and love she spread in her self-sacrificing ways.
Kristy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bob and Vivian Kersey; and her sister Kestin (Kersey) Braden.
She is survived by her husband, Adam; sons Carter (16) and Cyler (10); her father Richard Kersey; mother, Robin (Steve) Price; grandparents Tom and Avis Bennett; Amy (Bret) Smith, Random (Michael) Muse, Nicole Kersey, Julianna Kersey, and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, friends, and school family.
