Kenneth Murphy, 85, passed away May 9th at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 12, 1931 to Edward and Edna Murphy in Laramie, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Kenneth married Dian Forbes on February 8, 1958 and taught school for over 30 years, most of those at Carey Junior High School. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club, Cowboy Joe Club, and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dian; three daughters, Debbie Bishop (Jeff) of Casper, and Tricia Murphy and Susan Keenan (Bill), both of Cheyenne; seven grandchildren, Brandon (Abby), Bryce (Jesse), Jessie, Jordan, Aleksandra, Molly, and Connor; six great-grandchildren, Shayde, Eliza, Carter, Jude, Aubrey, and Lucy; brother, Edward Murphy; sister, Marilyn Hunt; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Patricia Roum.
Memorial services will be Saturday, 11:30 a.m., at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
